Researchers usually summarize relevant literature in the introduction to research reports. The lit review provides readers with a background for understanding current knowledge on a topic and illuminates the significance for the new study.
An important resource for research is to have at hand all the literature as possible and I also refer to journals and Internet sites. It’s really important because you have to have an idea about recent investigations and researches that other people of authors had wrote.
I made this compilations of three different journals; and this will help me to have a better journey for my investigation.
Here we have three different surveys that I took from three different journals by searching in the ERIC site; searching for journals and investigations who talked about human rights, women rights, etc.
These three journals have much in common as well as with too many things that differ. But, how can we know which is the most useful for me? We must take into account the main theme ("the rights of women: discrimination and other problems.").
All these three journals have things in common like: the three of them talks about discrimination in some way (women, homosexuals, education, racism, etc.) and they also explain the problem of discrimination and not following the human rights in some certain place or time in the History.
The first one (“Islam, western education and the riddle of human rights.”) is trying to compare human rights and the issues with women. The authors went to a qualitative method because they investigate trough every corner of the subject; they got involved and if you read the survey of the investigation you can easily notice how involved they were, because you can sense the effort and the feelings they put into.
They also interview people and studied, investigated and were subjective.
The second one (“Examples of best practice 3. Holocaust education and sexual diversity: a positive link between teaching about the persecution of Jews and sexual minorities.”).
The author used a qualitative method, and if you read his survey, you can notice that he based his investigation in one certain book. And after reading the survey we can notice that it’s obviously not servable as a resource for my investigation because I will talk about rights and the minorities and every issue about being judged, but I won’t talk about homosexuals and not even the Holocaust issues and discussions or positions of the Nazis and the homosexual people.
The third journal (Frequency and correlates of spouse abuse by type: Physical, sexual and psychological battering among sample Iranian women.) talks about how often is the violence against women in Iran, he is trying to inform that according to statistics conducted he got some results and he wants to show them and tries to solve the problem of investigation: (how frequently is the violence used in Iran), the method that the author used  is like a mix, the author used both methods for his investigation.
He used the qualitative method because he identified and then interviewed the women who were abused by their spouse and then he used the qualitative method because with the results of his interviews with the Iranian women, he made graphics; he took percentages and tried to realize how often the violence is the way the spouses act.
Comparing the three of the journals, we can notice that the first one and the second one are the ones that can help me with my investigation.
They have more important information and the most useful information; I could base my work in these papers. It’s obvious that I will have to keep looking forward more information and more facts about women rights and the fight with discrimination and racism.
But thanks to the method that I choose to write my essays and to research for my investigation; I will have the opportunity of looking for every information, every book, paper, interview and every material that I want to use in any time that I consider necessary to look for, because the qualitative method is more “flexible” about the literature review and you can look for it any time you want.
This comparative chart  between journals helped me to getting used to search for information in journals and to know what can be very useful for me and what articles are the ones that I will not need for my investigation.
